Our approach to regeneration

Reshape. Reinvent. Regenerate.

The Regeneration Team leads on major reuse projects for both The Churches Conservation Trust and for external groups whether working churches or local community groups. Our approach is the same: we combine our regeneration expertise with high-quality community engagement, market research and a drive towards finding sustainable and long-term uses for these buildings.

The Team has generated approximately £15m of external investment for The Churches Conservation Trust and other projects. Since 2007, we have invested in multi-million-pound conservation and adaptation capital projects at Bolton, Ipswich, King’s Lynn and Sunderland. Working with the Church Commissioners and the Department for Culture, Media & Sport we have also sold or leased a number of churches that are being developed for uses (including worship use) by other organisations. We have worked with working churches to repair and regenerate their spaces, and develop business plans that sustain their work.

The Regeneration Team promotes a creative but robust approach to delivery, helping communities and organisations deliver high quality, award winning projects.
