Recovered in pieces the morning after the blitz of 24 November 1940…….

What remained of the superb eagle lectern was taken from the ashes of St Mary-le-Port church to St John on the Wall, where they lain forgotten and forlorn until now.

Please join us for a conservation session where will be recording and conserving the remains of this fantastic artefact.

SPAB techniques and advice will be followed and equipment provided.

Crypt will be cold, please do wrap up warm. Hot drinks will be provided.
