High on a hill with far-reaching views
Standing high above the Medieval Court to the west of the village, the church overlooks the distant industrial sprawl of Portishead. The 12th-century tympanum is the oldest visible part, with good carved stonework throughout.
- a thirteenth-century screen;
- reredos and benches; and
- a grand late 1692 monument showing the kneeling figures of Edmund Wynter and his wife.

Join us for our annual christmas carol service at St Michael's church
Parking on Clevedon Road or through gate (when unlocked) to parking area at top of tarmac track, just below the level of the church. Relatively steep approach. Wide tarmac path from east side through churchyard to south door. Ramp inside to the south porch, wide aisles and reasonably wide south door.
Facilities & Hire
Due to the historic nature of our buildings, only a very small number of them have heating, running water and toilet facilities.The lighting is usually operated via a 'push button' timer or a motion sensor.
12 miles north east of Weston-super-Mare and 2 miles south of Portishead, off M5 Junction 19.
