Two CCT churches named in country's top 60

Comedian, Actor, Writer and Broadcaster Michael Palin and Yachtsman, Sir Robin Knox-Johnston CBE RD named two churches from the Trust's estate as their favourites.

St Margaret's of Antioch in Abbotsley Cambridge was named by Michael Palin who was married in the church, he describes it as a 'stout, strong, modest church' he said it  'has a unique feature of four knights on the corners of the tower. No-one seems to know their story, but they make St Margaret very special.'

The list was announced by grant-giving body the National Churches Trust in which 60 well known politicians, celebrities and academics nomimated their favourite churches in the UK. Others who nominated churches included David Cameron and Joanna Lumley.
