Holy Trinity York inspires local musician David Ward Mclean
On a snowy January afternoon York-based musician David Ward Maclean met with University of York student Sarah Phillips to film and record a performance of 'He Loved This Place', a song inspired by the peaceful and reflective qualities of the churchyard.
In the film, David explains how Holy Trinity's secluded location, behind the busy city-centre streets, has inspired many of his songs. Many of his ideas have been formed on his visits to the churchyard where there is a bench inscribed with the words 'He Loved This Place', a dedication to Wallace Martin, churchwarden at Holy Trinity between the years 1954 and 1984.
