Carry on Champing 2016 - 10 sites launched

21 Jan 2016

The Churches Conservation Trust is pleased to announce the expansion of it's unique Champing™ breaks – which offer the chance to sleep the night in a Grade I and II* listed church – to ten sites for the 2016 season.

This follows the success of Champing™ in 2015, which saw nearly 300 ‘Champers’ staying at four different sites in Kent, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire. In fact Champing™ has been such a success that CCT has just launched a brand new website at www.champing.co.uk which offers an online booking facility.

‘Champers’ will now be able to select from ten churches for their break, choosing from sleeping under the carved angels at The Church of St Michael and All Angels in Booton, Norfolk, revelling in the Medieval simplicity of All Saints' Church in Aldwincle, Northamptonshire, or bedding down in a box pew at the Church of St Mary the Virgin in Fordwich, Kent.

Champing adventures cost £55 per person per night, including breakfast (£20 for children under 16 and a £50 per person for groups of over 8 people) Alongside the standard champing break, CCT can also suggest activities to complement stays, including leisurely walks, canoeing adventures, storytelling and meditation.

Guests have the building to themselves for a peaceful night’s sleep interrupted only by the sounds of the natural world, and time to explore the beauty of the surrounding countryside at their own pace by day.
