Baroness Andrews OBE appointed Vice President of The Churches Conservation Trust

06 Jan 2015

Baroness Andrews OBE, who also served as Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government until 2009, joins our other Vice Presidents Lord Brooke of Sutton Mandeville CH PC, the Rt Hon Frank Field MP, Dame Liz Forgan DBE and Jools Holland OBE DL.

Author, journalist and conservation campaigner Candida Lycett Green was also Vice President of The Churches Conservation Trust until she sadly passed away in August 2014.

Our Chief Executive Crispin Truman said:

""We are delighted that Baroness Andrews has agreed to serve as Vice President of The Churches Conservation Trust. I have fond memories of working with her as Chair of English Heritage and know she brings with her a wealth of expertise and experience from that role, and her time in Government. I look forward to showing her around some of beautiful churches in our care and some of the exciting projects we do to put them back at the heart of community.”

Baroness Andrews said:

“It is an honour to be appointed as Vice President of a charity I know and love, which does such worthwhile work saving historic churches, and helping their communities to use them in new ways. I look forward to assisting The Churches Conservation Trust with its important work.”
