More4's Discovering Britain visits two of our Berkshire churches
Last night, More 4's Discovering Britain saw actress Wendy Craig visit St Thomas' East Shefford and St Bartholomew's Lower Basildon to learn about their interesting histories.
At Lower Basildon - resting place of agriculturalist Jethro Tull - Wendy met painter, author and architectural enthusiast Matthew Rice (a friend of The Churches Conservation Trust who designed our range of mugs and tea towel) to discuss their shared love of churches, and at picturesque East Shefford, Wendy discussed the history of St Thomas' with much-loved local volunteer Alma Dawkins (pictured below © Reef TV/ Channel 4).
Discovering Britain bills itself as "A celebration of Britain's outdoors, its history, culture and tradition, that explores our love affair with the nation's heritage" and we were delighted when they approached us last summer to film at these two important Berkshire churches.
For the next 30 days at least, you can watch again (from 30 minutes 47 seconds) via the link below.
