We Are Gathered Here Art Installation

St Nicholas' Church, Gloucester, Gloucestershire

Restoring a congregation to the Church of St Nicholas, Westgate Street, Gloucester.

Delight in the atmosphere created by the 'We Are Gathered Here' art installation, which depicts a congregation in silhouette and pays homage to the people who have contributed to Westgate Street in Gloucester's fascinating heritage over time.

These wonderful individual artworks created by Art students from Gloucestershire College fill the pews of the church creating a striking visual impact. Each one is inspired by a person who once lived, worked, visited or supported Westgate Street in Gloucester, with an artist representation of an aspect of them on one side, and the often interesting historical information on the rear provided from research by the Gloucester Family History Society.

This project is a Cathedral Quarter partnership between the Gloucestershire Family History Society, Gloucester Civic Trust and the Churches Conservation Trust. This exhibition is supported by Voices Gloucester and Nick's Timber.

The art installation will be open to view throughout December.
