Starting from St Mary's Church in West Stow visiting All Saints' Church, Wordwell which was restored by the Victorians but contains stone carvings and chancel arch from the Norman church.


The Suffolk Walking Festival is one of the largest and longest running walking festivals in the country.   Celebrating Suffolk’s natural and built heritage, visiting every corner of the county.  In May 2019, the previous festival walkers collectively left approximately 28 million footsteps across the county!

A scenic circular walk from St Marys Church in West Stow, with the nearby Anglo Saxon village via All Saints Church, Wordwell and Culford Independent School. All Saints' Church was restored by the Victorians but contains stone carvings and chancel arch from Norman times, plus 15th century beautifully carved benches.  Walk will go through the grounds of Culford School and alongside the lake.

Parking is available at the car park of St Mary’s Church, West Stow, Bury St Edmunds IP28 6ET.  Please note that there are no toilet facilities.
