Public exhibition of entries in the 2017 Young Textile Design Competition.

The Young Textile Design Competition, now in its third year, represents a living and continuing link with the Shrewsbury Drapers Heritage whilst providing a showcase for current Shropshire Schools Students to expand their creative talents.

The 2016 Shrewsbury Drapers Young Textile Design Competition was a great success More than 50 entries, from Key Stage 3 & 4 students, from 7 schools were entered. Contestants, teachers and parents were greeted at a prize giving in St Mary's Church, where all entries were exhibited. The Master of The Shrewsbury Drapers Company-Gordon Crofts presented prizes and certificates and the judges gave feedback on all entries. The High Sheriff-Christine Holmes congratulated all the students on the high quality of their designs and workpieces.
