Rainbow Plaque Making - York
Holy Trinity Church, York, North Yorkshire
Explore and commemorate York's LGBT history and make your own rainbow plaque.
Organised by York LGBT History Month, York Civic Trust, and York LGBT Forum, this free workshop will explore and celebrate York's LGBT past.
Holy Trinity Church was where Anne Lister and Ann Walker privately solemnised their commitment to each other in 1834 – an event that could be described as York's first lesbian wedding. Come along to discuss how we should commemorate Anne and Ann, to find out how to help make more permanent rainbow plaques happen, and to make your own removable cardboard plaque.
For more information, please contact: Helen Graham ([email protected]) and Kit Heyam ([email protected])
If you can’t make it, please feel free to email Kit or Helen in advance and we’ll create your plaque!
