Poppy Festival at St Saviour's
St Saviour's is one of the hosts for the Tetbury Poppy Festival. To mark the 100th anniversary of the end of World War One, Tetbury Town Council has asked the community to contribute knitted poppies for a massive display during this year’s Remembrance activities, over 5000 were created. The Council will also place a 6-foot high outline figure of a ‘Tommy’ to guard the War Memorial outside St Saviour's Church on Remembrance Day, after which the figure will be installed next to the display of stories in St Saviour’s Church. Children in the local Primary School have been given materials for each one to make a poppy, which are on display inside the church.
