Jeff Proctor is commencing his guided tours of the iconic churchyard at St. George’s. Jeff will be looking at the history, the families, and some of the characters that reside there, for instance, ‘The Heavenly Umpire’ and a bereaved family whose faith in the hereafter brings you almost to tears, to name but two.
The main theme of the walk is looking at and explaining the iconography and symbolism of some, (not all!) of the 2,500 headstones in our historic churchyard, coupled with the stories behind them.
