Heritage Training Session: Building on a Burial Site - Benington
In partnership with Benington Community Heritage Trust
Specialist Building Restoration and Conservation company Bonsers will lead a free technical session exploring the impact of archaeology on building projects, including necessary permissions and procedures, pre-contract archaeology works and their findings and impact on the design and procurement programme. The session comes to a close with a tour of the Grade I listed church, which is currently undergoing adaptation works to become a community and events centre, opening in October 2018.
This free event is tailored for college and university students and heritage professionals. However, all individuals over the age of 16 are welcome. There is a maximum capacity of 15 people.
Tickets must be booked in advance.
The tour will take place at ground level. Attendees will need to wear sensible footwear, such as walking boots (wellington boots are not permitted). Attendees should bring appropriate clothing with them for the outside tour of the building. Hard hats and high visibility jackets will be provided.
Light refreshment will be available.
