Heritage Open Day: Family Fun Open Day at St Leonard's Bridgnorth

St Leonard's Church, Bridgnorth, Shropshire

Come and experience creativity unwrapped in one of Bridgnorth's most magnificent buildings.

Free family activity day at the stunning Church of St Leonard's. 

Come and see the beautiful interior and hear how the church was nearly burned down by a cannon in the English Civil War and how it narrowly avoided a bomb dropped by a German plan in WWII.

Free family activities include:

·Unleash your inner artist and try your hand at the ancient art of scroll making and calligraphy and make your very own illuminated manuscript. 

· Tours of the church and tower and all its wonderful artefacts.

· Storytelling of Shropshire’s thrilling and sometimes terrifying local legends.

·  Talk by local historian on the fascinating history of this unique and wonderful building.

Free, although donations welcome. Children encouraged but must be accompanied by an adult.
