Helen Hooker Recorder Recital at St Johns Duxford

Professional recorder player Helen Hooker performs a recital demonstrating the full range of the recorder family.

Helen Hooker is no stranger to St John's Church, Duxford.  It is one of her favourite CCT Churches and one which, through her photography, has been meticulously documented.

For our final summer recital, Helen puts aside her camera and introduces us to her day job in classical music, performing a recital for a full range of recorders, from the tiny to the huge!  Her programme includes JS Bach, Georg Philipp Telemann as well as more modern works by Alan Bullard, Christopher Ball and the world premiere performance of a new piece for contrabass recorder by Steven Marshall.

Starts 3pm to 4pm.

Doors open at 2.30pm.  Refreshments available.

Free admission with a retiring collection on behalf of St John's Church.
