Walk in the footsteps of King Richard III and visit the peaceful refuges in the busy city of Leicester.


The Historic Tour will start at Leicester Cathedral, whilst it is currently closed to the public and is undergoing major conservation works which will transform what we know about its ancient past.

Next will enjoy St Mary de Castro Church, Leicester, a Grade I listed building that was originally built around 1107 as the chapel to Leicester Castle.

Then we will have a chance to appreciate Nicholas Church, Leicester, following the threat of demolition in the early 19th-century the church underwent several projects to secure its future, however, its Roman and Saxon origins are still clearly visible.

Our final stop will be All Saints’ Church, Leicester, one of the oldest churches in Leicester, situated by the old North Gate; it contains a Norman doorway and a richly carved 13th-century font.

Travel: Depart Leicester train station at 10:30, returning to the station by 16:30
