Join us for both a walking tour and a river cruise to explore the medieval landscape of Shrewsbury.

Firstly, we will take advantage of visiting St Mary the Virgin, home to one of the tallest spires in England and an ancient church with world famous stained glass. This church is now the only complete medieval church in Shrewsbury.

Then we will enjoy St Alkmund’s, a church that originally was medieval but rebuilt in Gothic Revival style later.

Lastly, we will explore Old St Chad, that was a ruin since 1788 and the prior location of the incredible Jesse window, now situated in St Mary’s. Other details delight you wherever you look in this church: an ancient font, Medieval stone carving on the arcades, interesting monuments. The beauty and variety of this church and its contents, all on a grand scale, blend into an uplifting and memorable whole.

The tour will begin at Shrewsbury train station at 10am, and will return to the station by 4.30pm.
