Return concert given by the South Downs Soloists, a group of eight professional singers conducted by George Haynes, singing unaccompanied in the wonderful acoustic of St. John’s Chapel.


  • The programme of music will include music by both Thomas Tallis and Robert White, composers of the Renaissance era, and a totally new composition by George Haynes, the group’s conductor. George is a lay vicar from Chichester cathedral and his compositions have been sung by the Cathedral Choir during the singing of both the regular services and for special occasions such as the Christmas Carol services.
  • The concert is part of the Festival of Chichester and is listed in their Festival brochure, and is sponsored by the Dekker Trust; it will raise funds during the evening for Stonepillow, the Chichester based charity supporting the homeless and rough sleepers.
  • Volunteers from this charity will be in attendance and they will be manning a stand explaining aspects of their work.
  • Alcohol and soft drinks will be served during the interval in return for cash/card donations to the Stonepillow charity.
  • Ticket price includes a free programme.
