An evening of beautiful cello music in a church much loved by Thomas Hardy.

Words from event organiser and CCT volunteer Ruper Hardy:

"Emly Burridge is a virtuoso cellist whose deft improvisational skills create sublime music, fluidly crossing genres. She will play a Bach suite as well as her own stunningly contemporary compositions for solo cello. Her home is near Shaftesbury (www.emilyburridge.com). This will take little more than an hour and afterwards you are warmly invited back to the Manor for wine and eats.

St Andrew’s is one of Dorset’s loveliest churches and was also one of Thomas Hardy’s favourites. This evening’s entertainment is primarily in aid of the church, looked after by the Churches Conservation Trust, whose government funding has been slashed heavily in recent years. We are also supporting Lighthouse Relief which provides humanitarian relief for Syrian refugees landing in Greece, and the parish. We do hope you will come to this memorable event but please apply soon as we only have seventy tickets given the small size of the building. For those unable to come we would be delighted to receive donations for these worthy causes!

Please contact Rupert Hardy ([email protected]) for tickets at £18 each to include wine and eats."
