A needle-sharp spire with views over the Wye Valley
This Victorian church has a needle-sharp spire that overlooks the Wye Valley. The church was built at the expense of the Price family of nearby Foxley between 1843 and 1855. The architect was George Moore but the spire and remarkable fittings were completed by the rector, The Reverend R L Freer.
The dark and atmospheric interior is a riot of colourful painting and wonderful wood carving, lit by some beautiful stained glass.

Access information
Along a grass path cut through the banks of the churchyard from a 5-bar gate to the adjacent lane. The approach is relatively flat, if soft under foot, but entrance at the west end is up 5 steps to the porch. Access via the West door has 8 steps and each vestry has three up from the churchyard. Please note, in wet weather the church door can stick in place, so please push to free.

Due to the historic nature of our buildings, only a very small number have heating, running water and toilet facilities.The lighting is usually operated via a 'push button' timer or a motion sensor.
