We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, energetic and motivated Conservation Projects Manager to join CCT and play a key role in securing the future of a number of nationally significant historic chapels.

The Churches Conservation Trust (CCT) is the national charity caring for 357 historic churches at risk.  CCT has an international award-winning reputation in heritage conservation and regeneration. For this reason CCT has been contracted to deliver a programme of work for Historic Chapels Trust (HCT). HCT owns and cares for 20 of the most significant Nonconformist and Catholic chapels no longer in regular use by their congregations, all listed at Grade I and Grade II*.

Key to the project is a programme of c. £2m of urgent repairs to the chapels which are most at risk, funded by the National Heritage Memorial Fund (NHMF) through their Cultural Assets Fund (CAF).

As a member of the CCT’s national conservation team you will lead on the development and delivery of a number of urgent repair projects at chapels that have been agreed with HCT Trustees and funders; from appointing and managing the professional teams, agreeing priorities and the scope of repairs to making client decisions on site on behalf of HCT Trustees. You will also oversee the development and delivery of the day to day asset management of all 20 chapels.

The successful candidate will have a relevant professional qualification or be educated to degree level in an associated discipline. You will have experience in the field of historic building repair or specialist knowledge of conservation. As you’ll be working at chapels throughout England it is essential you have a full driving licence.
