Sunderland College Students Design Historic Life Drawing Workshop

A group of students from Sunderland College have designed a unique historic life drawing workshop at Seventeen Nineteen. The workshop, which is open to all ages and abilities, gives participants the opportunity to draw older volunteers in historic costume while listening to their recollections of life in the past.

The workshop was the brainchild of student Pui Lee. "I wanted to create an opportunity for people to learn about history in a fun and creative way," said Pui. "I think the combination of drawing and listening to stories is a really powerful way to connect with the past."

The workshop was a huge success, with participants of all ages enjoying the opportunity to learn about history and to develop their artistic skills. "It was a really interesting and informative experience," said one participant. "I learned a lot about how people lived in the past, and I also got to improve my drawing skills."

The workshop was also a great way for the older volunteers to share their stories and to connect with the younger generations. "It was really rewarding to tell my stories and to see how interested the participants were," said one volunteer. "I think this workshop is a great way to keep history alive."

The historic life drawing workshop is just one example of the innovative ways that Sunderland College students are using art to connect with the community. The college is committed to providing students with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in their chosen careers, and this workshop is a great example of how art can be used to achieve this goal.
