The Churches Conservation Trust is delighted to announce that the fundraising goal for the repair of the patronal St Peter's window at Claydon has been successfully achieved.

Almost 27 years to the day after the church's vesting with CCT, volunteers at St Peter's discovered that this much-loved feature had sadly suffered damage from vandals, shattering several pieces of ornate glass. The window was immediately boarded up to protect the church from the elements, casting a shadow over the chancel and congregation.

Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of individual donors and the local community, the full funds required to conserve this window have now been raised, and the project has been completed, bringing light back into the church.

This achievement is an inspiring reminder of what can be achieved when people work together to protect their church and a glowing testament to the value with which they hold this fine window. The community of Claydon replaced the original window, as the inscription at the base reveals, after the original was destroyed by a parachute mine during the Second World War.

CCT extends its heartfelt thanks to all who contributed to the campaign. This milestone marks an important step in preserving the legacy of St Peter's Church and its treasured St Peter window for many years to come.
