Celebrating our churches: A special week of activities will be taking place in June to celebrate CCT churches

A plethora of wonderful events will be held across England from 6-15 June, as part of a national campaign to celebrate the churches cared for by the Churches Conservation Trust.
Our aim is to raise the profile of the trust as well as increase awareness and financial support to help us protect and preserve our 357 churches.
Communities will be celebrating their local CCT church in various ways, with activities ranging from talks and tours to picnics, services and concerts. Celebrations will range in size from special open days for churches with restricted access to larger events such as musical performances.
Highlights include:
- 6 June: Enjoy a picnic at the Church of St Martin of Tours in Elworthy, Somerset.
- 6-15: June: All Saints’ Langport, Somerset, will be holding an exhibition on how climate change affects historic buldings.
- 7-15 June: Love Your Burial Ground Week will be taking place at St Peter’s Church, Offord D’Arcy, in Cambridgeshire. Here, visitors will be able to find out more about the Friends Group’s rewildLove Your Burial Ground Week in Offord D'Arcying project.
- 8 June: Enjoy a picnic at the Church of The Blessed Virgin Mary in Emborough, Somerset.
- 13 June At Holy Trinity Church in Coverham, North Yorkshire, popular touring theatre company This Is My Theatre will be staging a
performance of The Three Musketeers. - 14 June: St Thomas’ Church in Thurlbear will be the venue for an organ recital, where visitors can ‘learn, through poetry and song,
Thurlbear’s connection to one of the greatest romances in English literary history’. - 15 June: St John’s Church, Stamford, will be featuring a special display of altar frontals and other church fabrics.
