The chapel is not normally open for visitors, but Heritage Open Day is one of the days where you can discover more about what is inside.

In keeping with the theme of this year's Heritage Open Days of 'Extraordinary Women', the chapel contains five monuments to the two wives of John Lord Lumley - Lady Jane and Lady Elizabeth, both of whom were remarkable in their own right.

Lumley Chapel will be attending by a knowledgeable local historian who will be pleased to guide you around and show you the monuments and other quirks of the building.

Open on Sunday 16th September from 2.00 until 5.00 p.m.

Admission Free, with donations, please, to The Churches Conservation Trust
