Open morning session with refreshments, info displays and a chance to look around a beautiful village church and grounds.

Welcome to Sutton Mallet Church Open Morning

During the weekend of September 7 & 8 2024, Sutton Mallet Church will be celebrating the Heritage Open Day period with displays inside the church about its history and characteristics including the very unusual ‘box pews’. The church will be decorated with flowers and there will be a welcome event on Saturday from 10 - 12 with delicious locally made cakes along with tea, coffee and other refreshments (no charge). The church will be attended by volunteers ready to welcome our visitors and answer any questions.

No need to book for the welcome event but it would be helpful if larger groups let us know.

Timings & Tours

Saturday 07 September:

10:00-12:00 - welcome event, displays & refreshments; 12:00-17:00 - displays

Sunday 08 September:

10:00-17:00 - displays

Accessibility details

One short flight of stone steps up to the church. Paths are grassed but fairly even. Stairs not directly accessible for wheelchairs, but if they can be lifted to churchyard level then general access is possible. No toilet facilities in the church or village.

Additional information

Please note: refreshments only available 10:00-12:00 Saturday 7th Sept but displays are up for the whole weekend.
