Join the Churches Conservation Trust for a festive evening at the oldest church in the City of London, All Hallows by the Tower.

Last few remaining tickets left. Purchase your ticket today in order to avoid missing out.

Start your Christmas countdown with So Fair and Bright: A Musical Advent Calendar of carols, seasonal songs and poems, and traditional and modern classics with an occasional twist. Join the Churches Conservation Trust and Serenata Female Voices for an evening of light-hearted festive musical treats from our most celebrated British composers.

Serenata is a choir of experienced female singers drawn from across Cambridgeshire, where CCT cares for twelve historic churches. Directed by their talented conductor, Andrew Foxley, and with accompaniment from Kate Wishart, the choir shares a passion for the rich heritage of women’s vocal music and sings a mix of styles from different eras of music in an approachable way.

Behind the doors of our Musical Advent Calendar, you will discover delights such as John Rutter’s Angels’ Carol, So Fair and Bright by Bob Chilcott, Roderick Williams’ A Catch by the Harth, John Tavener’s The Lamb, An Earthly Blessing by Will Todd, together with poetry and readings.

Doors for So Fair and Bright: A Musical Advent Calendar open at 19:15, and we will welcome the Serenata choir to lead us in song from 19:30. Included in the cost of your ticket, you will also have the chance to explore the striking surroundings of All Hallows by the Tower with a glass of bubbles in your hand (and perhaps a mince pie, or two!) during the event’s interval.

CCT are proud to be returning to All Hallows for our Christmas event. All Hallows is the oldest church in the City of London and was founded by the Abbey of Barking in 675AD, 300 years before the Tower of London. Within, you can see the many layers of the church's history, including Roman pavement, a Saxon arch, medieval stonework, and scars from the Blitz. Today, All Hallows remains an active place of worship seeking to preserve the church for future generations, both as a place of worship and as a focus for the local community.

Tickets are available to purchase for just £19.50, with CCT members enjoying an exclusive discounted rate of £17.50. Included in the cost of the tickets is an interval drinks reception.

This celebratory occasion not only offers the opportunity to come together in festive cheer but is also being hosted to raise vital funds for CCT, as all proceeds from this event will go towards caring for the 357 churches we look after.
