Marsh Volunteer of the Year Awards

We would like to hear from you about volunteers who you think are making an exceptional contribution and deserve special recognition.

Each year we celebrate the enormous contribution volunteers make to protect historic churches at the Volunteer of the Year awards, generously sponsored by the Marsh Christian Trust. The awards are presented at a ceremony in January where winners selected from a nominated shortlist receive a certificate and a cheque for £500.

The 2017 award ceremony will take place as part of our National Volunteering Day, our annual celebration of  our volunteers and volunteering, in central London.

The awards are a terrific opportunity to give special thanks to those who went the extra mile this year, as nominated by staff and peers. We would like to hear from you about volunteers who you think are making an exceptional contribution and deserve special recognition.

We are pleased to confirm the following award categories for 2017:

  • Regional Volunteer of the Year: An award of £500 and certificate will be made in each of the three regions of the Trust – North, South East and West to a volunteer whose voluntary contribution deserves special recognition within that region, in any capacity.
  • Young Volunteer of the Year: An award of £500 and certificate to a young person under the age of 25 who has made an outstanding contribution in any aspect of the Trust’s activities over the last 12 months at local, regional or national level.
  • National Fundraiser of the Year: An award of £500 and certificate made to a volunteer who has made a particularly valuable contribution to the Trust in a fundraising capacity.
  • Volunteer Team of the Year: An award of £500 and certificate to a volunteer team or friends group who have carried out successful projects, events or activities together.

All nominations are considered by a panel from the Marsh Christian Trust. How the award is used is entirely at the discretion of the recipient. All nominees will be acknowledged as a token of thanks for their support and contribution.
