The Churches Conservation Trust’s award winning Regeneration Team was set up in 2007, with experience across a range of sectors including community regeneration, social enterprise, historic conservation, site interpretation, and project management. We work in partnership with all kinds of community groups, charities, social enterprises, businesses, and entrepreneurs, and public bodies to breathe new life, and find sustainable new uses for historic space (not just churches!).
Our aim is to ensure these special buildings are conserved, in use, and, finding new ways for them to remain at the heart of their communities. Our approach is to promote sustainable stewardship of historic churches, so that problems of decay and redundancy repairs are tackled before they become overwhelming.
We work on our own estate, and also in the wider community bringing our skills together with communities, businesses, Dioceses, and public bodies to create successful regeneration projects, tailoring our team’s expertise into bespoke packages that deliver award-winning projects. Since 2007 the team has won fourteen awards including six Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors awards for Community Benefit, Building Conservation and Project of the Year for All Souls Bolton.
Our work is scalable and not just limited to huge restoration projects, we have completed a range of projects at different scales. Including 4 major projects completed to date, with 3 more underway. We have supported 70 communities including 10 internationally, and created 77 new jobs. The team has secured over £28 million investment for regeneration of old buildings.
Our passion is conserving our estate of precious historic churches as well as helping others to conserve historic buildings for future generations. If we can help do get in touch.
