How your legacy can help

Regardless of your background or beliefs, beautiful buildings draw people to them.

Opening the door of an historic church reveals a world of discovery. Inside you can find some of the very best art, sculpture, carvings and paintings from down the centuries. Churches hold the story and fabic of people's lives; they resonate with history and atmosphere. They are one of England's glories.

CCT is working to preserve these unique buildings for future generations to enjoy, and legacies play a critical part in supporting our work.

Conservation

Edlesborough conservation in actionFrom basic weatherproofing to painstaking work on ancient wallpaintings and priceless textiles, we strive to give each of the churches in our estate the love and attention they deserve, using traditional skills that would otherwise be in danger of disappearing.

Regeneration and community work

Event at St Nicholas' Chapel, Kings LynnHistoric churches are often the original community buildings for our villages, towns and cities. We work hard to ensure that these buildings can continue to inspire and be used by future generations, playing a vital role in a new use which engages and benefits their communities.

Education

Children enjoying a drawing workshop in churchWe aim to make the churches in our care accessible to all - both physically and intellectually. From formal education groups to informal workshops and talks, we aim to help people of all ages to discover a unique part of our nation's history.

But all this comes at a price. Specialist conservation work is expensive and the number of churches in our care continues to grow. Each year we work with an increasing number of communities to help them embrace their local historic church. Yet in order to continue our efforts to save churches we need to ensure our long-term financial stability.

Rememebering CCT in your Will can make such a difference - it will help us plan for the future.

Donate by text

Last year, we welcomed over two million visitors to our churches. If each person donated just £2, this would enable us to keep our churches open, safe and watertight for you and future generations to enjoy.
