The Board of Trustees
The Trustees give their time on a voluntary basis. They are appointed by the Queen on the advice of the Archbishops. In practice that means the Archbishops’ Secretary for Appointments works with the Trust, the Church and Government and other stakeholders to identify and select candidates for trustee. Her decision is then subject to the confirmation of the Prime Minister’s Appointments’ Secretary.
The Board is limited by statute (the Pastoral Measure) to seven Trustees. An amendment to the Measure about to go to Parliament is likely to extend this to ten in 2008.
The Board is chaired by Loyd Grossman OBE FSA, who took up his appointment in July 2007.
HRH The Prince of Wales became the President of the Trust in September 2007.
