The Taskforce Approach

The Taskforce has created a business process to guide project development. This process provides a structure for developing projects and enables the Trust and its partners to make informed decisions about the best uses for its estate.
There are three broad stages within the process.
Stage One: Community Audit
A Community Audit generates information on the people, the place and the opportunities for a church. This helps generate initial project ideas which can then be researched in more detail. The Community Audit consists of three parts:
- Community profile
- Background documents review
- Community Open Day

Stage Two: Options development
Options development requires the initial ideas to stand up to more robust testing. This stage involves developing a mini business plan for each idea, identifying and making links with potential partners and testing initial assumptions with local people and potential users. Options development also includes the production of an Assessment of Significance by one of the Trust's Conservation Managers.

Stage Three: Project development
Once a preferred option has been established through options development – and assuming there is a sufficient business case to move forward – full project development is the next stage. This is the most detailed stage and includes producing a business plan, sourcing funding and designing and delivering any necessary adaptation works.
This is a brief overview of the process. If you would like more details please email Matthew Mckeague, Regeneration Officer at mmckeague@tcct.org.uk, or call 020 7213 0685.
