CCT Annual ReviewsSo that you and our funders know how well we're doing in our aims to care for and bring back to life our 340 churches and so you know how your money is being spent, we produce reports each year on our achievements, challenges and financial results.

It’s about people

In our 2010-11 Review we celebrate the people who make up the Churches Conservation Trust (CCT): our 62 Friends groups, thousands of volunteers, almost 2 million visitors, our generous donors and our staff.  This year we also make a big plea for funds.  CCT is a relatively small charity with responsibility for a large, internationally-important collection of over 340 historic church buildings.  You and your support are crucial to ensuring we can meet this great responsibility in the years to come.

Challenges ahead

We are extremely grateful for the support we receive from the Department for Culture, Media and Sport and from the Church of England.  However our Government grant will reduce by 20% over the next three years, on top of a 3% cut last year and a freeze for seven out of the last eight years.  Our Church grant also remains frozen.  We will also lose over £50,000 a year as a result of the capping of the Listed Places of Worship Scheme.  By 2015 that will be a reduction of almost £1m in our annual budget, on top of an estimated repairs shortfall of £1.5m a year.

Meeting the challenge with your help

CCT can meet this challenge because of our close connection to communities and through the active involvement of our volunteers.   We aim to widen public support by showing how the beautiful churches in our care make for better places to live and come together.  By combining our grant with your support we can do the repairs our churches need and save more of those at risk.

This slim Review gives just a flavour of what we all do at CCT.

We would be only too pleased to tell you more and our contact details are in the Review and on the staff pages.

We would also be pleased to hear from you if you have ideas about new ways in which we might collaborate on projects or address our fundraising challenge.

To all who have so generously supported us in the last year: thank you, we are most grateful.

Donate by text

Last year, we welcomed over two million visitors to our churches. If each person donated just £2, this would enable us to keep our churches open, safe and watertight for you and future generations to enjoy.
