Overlooking the River Thames, the 1760s church is a monument to wealth and taste, with dazzling Italian fittings, magnificent memorial sculptures and busts. From this tranquil estate, walk through Oxfordshire’s countryside along to the sleepy village of Nuneham Courtenay and then on to the heart of historic Oxford which is best discovered on foot.

There are many cultural attractions and sightseeing spots in Oxford including the University of Oxford Colleges and renowned museums such as the Ashmolean and the Pitt Rivers museum. Walkers should reward themselves with a trip to the Eagle and Child historic pub, the chosen meeting ground for literary masters such as Tolkien and C.S. Lewis.
