St Andrew, East Heslerton

St Andrew’s stands in a large peaceful churchyard at the southern end of the hamlet. The present building, completed in 1877, is uniquely the only church, among 14 rebuilt or restored for Sir Tatton Sykes by G E Street, that features a complete scheme of design, execution and furnishing by the architect. The church is in the Transitional style, with an Italian feel, and a striking tower and spire 105ft (32m) in height. Inside, the oak pews, set in an oak-boarded floor in the nave, and the stone pulpit are particularly fine.
