A volunteer should be...

We do have an expectation that our volunteers are able to relate to visitors and work well with our staff, and as such, the qualities our volunteers need to show they have are:

  • Approachable and interested, welcoming and friendly, well informed
  • Patient, tactful, polite, professional
  • Alert to danger and security risk, but calm in a crisis

Crispin, Rohit and 2 young volunteers at Volunteer ConferenceBecause of the very important role volunteers play in supporting our day-to-day operations, it is important that volunteers are willing to reliably attend on the days and times agreed to.

To this end it may be necessary to have a volunteering rota, to coordinate the duties of all volunteers at a particular church.

Donate by text

Last year, we welcomed over two million visitors to our churches. If each person donated just £2, this would enable us to keep our churches open, safe and watertight for you and future generations to enjoy.
