76-year-old Dickie Dutton parachute jumps for Cooling, St James!

Jump for joy

Whilst out bird watching on a snowy day in December 2010, 76-year-old Dickie Dutton (seen here 2nd from right) fell in love with St James Church in Cooling, Kent as soon as he saw it. He knew nothing of its history or architectural merits but sensed it was a very special place, and that he wanted to help it.

Now he is going to do a parachute jump to raise funds to help us improve the interpretation of the church for visitors.

He will jump on 2 July 2011 and has already raised over £2,500 in sponsorship. Please help him double this sum by donating at www.justgiving.com/richard-dickie-dutton.

Last year, we welcomed over two million visitors to our churches. If each person donated just £2, this would enable us to keep our churches open, safe and watertight for you and future generations to enjoy.
