Rachel Basch

Volunteer for the conservation projects officer assisting on interpretation projects

I have just completed a Masters degree in Early Modern History at the University of York, having already completed a History BA (hons) there. Throughout my studies I have always been interested in pursuing a career in the Heritage Sector, and have been particularly interested in Education and Interpretation. I have volunteered in the education departments of a number of museums, including the York Castle Museum, where I often ran themed activities in the museums Live Studios, as well as more recently the Museum of London Docklands.

I was really excited by the opportunity to volunteer in a different heritage environment, and would really like to develop my understanding of how the Trust manages and implements its education and interpretation work. I was particularly attracted by an internship with the Trust as I hope that it will allow me to gain practical experience in the field that I wish to work in as well as complementing my interest in religious history, and in particular the Reformation and the impact that it had on contemporary society.
