Students studying the wallpaintings at Inglesham church On-site training provides a chance for students to gain practical experience in conservation under leading conservators.

In 2010, we started to offer placements to students at our on-going wallpaintings conservation project at Church of St John the Baptist, Inglesham.

Placements in 2011/12

Wallpainting conservation
July and August 2011

This will take place at Church of St John the Baptist, Inglesham. It may involve the intensive study of the north aisle multi-layer Medieval wallpaintings, with a stereo microscope. It is suited to students studying for degrees or post-graduate degrees/diplomas in conservation.

Stained glass conservation
2012 – Dates to be confirmed

The stained glass from the east window of Church of St Michael and All Angels, Princetown, is in need of conservation. There will be an opportunity for a small number of placements in the glass conservators workshop during the work for periods of one or two weeks. It is suited to students studying for degrees or post-graduate degrees/diplomas in stained glass conservation.
