The promotion of craft skills is essential to the future of conservation. Without specialist contractors, it would be impossible to maintain present standards.

Every year, we run craft skills courses. They are designed for anyone who is interested and are CPD supported.

Topics vary, but previously, we have run courses on stained glass windows, wallpaintings, using lime mortar, repair of stonework and timber repairs.

All Saint's church, Billesly, Stratford Upon Avon, Warwickshire 17th and 18th March

A weekend course to learn the traditional craft of drystone walling directly from an experienced waller. Join in for an opportunity to contribute in restoring the churchyard wall of this picturesque church on the site of a deserted medieval village.

Skills training course 19th & 20th November at All Saints Church, Billelsey, Warwickshire Free

St Margaret's church, Catmore, Berkshire 20th and 21st July

A  two day course learning about lime, mortars, masonry and more with a series of lectures by Sara Crofts from SPAB and other specialists in: Conservation Philosophy, Housekeeping of Churches and their contents and working with professional advisers; CCTV drains surveying; Bats, ecology and their impact on historical buildings.

St Mary's church, Pitstone, Buckinghamshire 10th - 14th October

A 5 day course working with Owslworth IJP and the friends of St Mary's to offer a fun, informative and practical course learning about traditional limewashing.
