Sustain our historic churches, conserving and adapting them for 21st-century communities.
We will conserve, repair and adapt the Trust's 341 historic churches to meet community needs and strengthen our preventive maintenance programme; work preventively with churches at risk in partnership with others and save churches through vesting in the Trust; help to regenerate communities through new self-sustaining uses.
Encourage people to enjoy, visit, use and care for our churches
We will attract more visitors by providing an improved and distinctive experience at historic churches in partnership with 'Aspire' and others; develop new community uses; increase volunteering and support to volunteers and Friends Groups; create opportunities for young people to get involved; encourage local management.
Grow the Trust, its skills, partnerships and income
We will increase and diversify resources through new partnerships and investment in fundraising and profile; develop the Supporters' Scheme and new donor programmes and protect core grant-in-aid; maximise cost-effectiveness through increased regionalisation; strengthen systems and support to teams.
Share our learning
We will promote good practice in our conservation, use and design and highlight the public value of historic churches; invest in online promotion and new ways of interacting with communities; disseminate our work more widely and engage actively in the sector.
